season fnarg five or 31

Ok im bashing Mr Moffat a bit i know, but as we are on the end thought id share ,
Is RTD a executive producer still ?

I did like the Pandorica opens but talk about a leaf out of RTD book
I liked it as CGI was minimal and the effect piratical and at last real life tangible monsters
how sad all RTD ones, tho gos to show what i originaly said  the realy bad theory of over reliance on CGI in a story budget
But what's going on with Moffat he is not up to his usual excellent standard and the other writers "Dull as dish water "
I think Matt Smith is a fabulous Doctor and Karen Gillan is a magnificent companion, but Steven Moffat has fallen into some of the same problems that the new WHO faced under RTD. Whereas RTD would cover the problems with GRAND EMOTIONAL MOMENTS, Moffat goes for something much less sappy and tries to make the story carry the day, and that's a problem because his stories -- which are, after all, Moffat's strongest point -- are not up to his usual extraordinary standard.

Exhibit A: once the Doctor, River, and Amy get under Stonehenge, did you notice how the episode pretty much stops dead for a while? The show goes from racing forward to stalling like crazy until the bad guys show up. The Cyberman attack doesn't happen for an actual reason. It happens to kill screen time. (Nicely done and very effective tho)

A Cyberman under stone henge in Roman times eh ?, why surely this should raise a few questions , there's a dismembered arm again walk right by nothing said why / if the audience is asking questions then so should they,
the Doctor explains the Cyberman in a throwaway line (a sentry! dismembered by Celts!), which is a trick Moffat is relying far too much on. It's a problem, because the explanatory throwaway line is what DOCTOR WHO lives on; that's how the Doctor explains the rules of the game every week. But Moffat isn't just using the throwaways to set the parameters that the show operates on. He's using them *after* his situation unfolds. He's not using them to establish the set-up, but to justify the payoff. This engenders a "bullshit" response in the viewer, by which I mean "me."

It doesn't make the slightest bit of sense. And that's the problem.

The plot hole thing is the most annoying. For whatever reason, Moffat enjoys having people do something that is really really stupid and should not work, and it works, and the writer only later provides a reason that explains why it worked, or why it happened. The Cyberman is a case in point; another is the Doctor's  stupid RTD-esque, 10-esque, glory-hogging, shouty speech to buy half an hour;
you know what I was thinking when I saw that? "IF I WERE A DALEK SHIP, I WOULD SHOOT HIM FROM ORBIT NOW." It turns out later that the Daleks want him alive, to put him into the Pandorica, so they have a semi-plausible reason to not shoot him; but at the time this feels so stupid that when it is explained it comes off more like the writer tapdancing over a plot hole. My rule of thumb: if the audience notices something is weird, the *characters* bloody well should. (See: Cyberman.)
it doesn't feel like an Eleven Story; it feels a lot like a Ten story, then this whole season has felt like a Ten season.
Moffatt's doing an RTD thing for the finale, but, , RTD moved on and I'm glad he did. I want to see Moffatt being more Moffat. In particular, I like the way he handles emotional moments much better than RTD's trademark soppiness and soap opera I like his more cerebral approach. but part one of this finale felt too much like him doing things the RTD way.much like the whole seaon i hope next season is far better and something new

Right said Moff

"We need a new direction
No old monsters imported from the past."
We tried to write it, no one really liked it
The shoot was going nowhere
And so we put the Daleks in and

"Right," said Moff, "We need some bigger writers
Get me Stoppard, Mamet or Frayn."
Tried a few tricks, visited the Old Vic
The agents got us nowhere and so
We got Chris Chibnall in.

And Piers had a think and he thought he ought
To get a new companion, a traditional companion
So we got her kit off and it did the trick for Moff.

"Right," said Moff, "What about the Doctor?
An older Doctor with gravitas and style."
Had some screen tests, even got to contracts
But the Beeb said, "Old Doctors? No!"
So Moff said, "Let's get a cheap feller in"
And Piers said, "Right-o."

"Right," said Moff, "We need to change the TARDIS
We need more rooms to liven up the show."
Had to snub it when we saw the budget
And it got us nowhere
And so we put some extra stairs in.

"Right," said Moff, "We need to turn it down now
That fanwank is gonna have to go."
Took the Voord out, even with the Garm out
We was getting nowhere
And so we had a little squee and

Piers had a drink and he said, "Look Moff,
I've got a sort of feeling
If we reshoot the first scene
With a prayer or two we could still muddle through."

"Right," said Moff, "Let's get back to basics
We need to keep things sweet at Upper Boat."
We brought back the Slitheen, wayward casting, finales with Tom Cobley and all...
Then Piers and me had a chat with RTD who said "Told ya so."

(I said to Piers, "We'll just make the show like it was with Russell, that's all.
Trouble with Moffat is, he's too randy. Won't get nowhere if you’re too randy")

TARDIS signs

hello there been a while ,did you miss me ?
thought i would post on the upcoming 7th Dr box
needs new signs desperately okies ,this is my project,i will acurize it
I have one given to me  for my birthday this  to me is the newbury refit, just wrong walls thats all & staying mint in box
one i am buying will look a little like this

nice huh ?
THATS what a 80s box should look like, personally going for a older weathered look
so hack base down new lamp new paint and.......... new signs

Season 19 box

not sure whats going on here,a sign stuck on roughly and crudely hacked away to blend it in to the wood top board ?,its the back doors before they switched permanently round to front being back and back being the front due to damage
The box seems twisted barely 2 years old and knackered  wow thats tatty
this box did obviously get a overhaul after this season as it changes somewhat although is left to go into a dishevelled state as seen in collin baker's costume shots and in peters last story and famous "Caves of Androzani "episode ,
well gives you room to manoeuvre and know you cant go to wrong
Season 22

More the look im going for ,lived in ,I do like the signs here light against darker box  maybe a little to thick on the frame put there to hide some considerable damage and repairs , which is not uncommon for things to be patched up off the hoof
and that colour is awful ill keep mine blue , recently informed this is infect genuine filth and dirt not a paint job

not entirely sure which "police box" signs im using probably one of these two,but ill alter tone etc before i print off
there is room for manoeuvre here considering the sheer changes from season to season and even episode to episode
Take into account also the recast there was another box and this obviously was far less tatty
but as per BBC protocol got damaged dirty and dishevelled at a alarming rate

it is from McCoy 25th season we have the infamous electric blue really bright TARDIS as seen in "Silver Nemesis" a mistake rectified but due to broadcast release being different to the filming the box does change shades every episode
and also at one time pink which was repainted over the top

Phone panel well it does change to "all" instead of "Urgent" and the font on some panels changes part way ala the new panel but hardly definitive Y.J 80s box phone panel ,so im going for that definitive look

also handles, interesting one this ,and this comes with a geek alert,
The handles were black or painted black from wherever they got them from but were actually silver metal

looking at "State of decay" and there season 18 story's and looking right up to McCoy there black .
At some points there painted blue obviously at same time the box was painted BBC hardly renowned for there deftness of touch but there black
in fact in some stores like Decay you can see the blacks worn off and the silver is strongly evident
so i got a wide variety here to consider as cant change my handles every week so black ,silver , blue handles
this is going to be interesting and ill need to do some tests see how to effect this properly
This is most certainly the phone panel i will use it has "IT" and i like the font all one all the way baskerville or times :)

So that's it for now, a upcoming project thought i would share some of my ideas insight to some of my thinking more on the project as it trundles along
